What is Open source solfware?


Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form for which the source code and certain other rights normally reserved for copyright holders are provided under a software license that permits users to study, change, and improve the software.

    I almost took this topic so I am thrilled that you did and that you are in my blog group. I know that the University ITS gurus have been thinking about how Open Source could play a part in using it here at Syracuse.

    Open source software is my favourite because I am a computer teacher and I think it will be good if student can download it at home so they can play with it and become familiar with it.

    For example : GIMP is Photo editing application that rivals Photoshop in features.
