OSS for Education

There is a huge data of open source software available to download from the Internet.

The first program that I recommend is GIMP.
GIMP is the program about editing an image.

  1. HI Tah Tah,
Last year, I went to training about GIMP software, I like it pretty much. It is full suite of painting tools. I think it is good as Adobe photoshop but it take time for you to learn and know how to use the tools. Importantly, It is free software.

Have another free painting software is Paint.net
try it! may be you will like it more http://www.getpaint.net/

  3. Hi TahTah,

I like the concept behind OSS. I have a University issued laptop. Do you know if OSS has issues with viruses since it is open? I think if it does, it may not be as useful in my context.

    Any help is appreciated.

  4. Tah Tah,
I haven't ever used OSS; this seems to be an easy first step to take with GIMP especially if it is similar to Adobe photoshop because I do have experience with that.
